The size is the one thing we cannot correct afterwards: steel allows very little adjustment, so we would rather get it right before we make the piece. Here are the two ways of measuring it that give us certainty, plus the full conversion table.
There are plenty of ways to work out a ring size: measuring the inside of a ring with a ruler, cutting a strip of paper and converting the millimetres… They are all fine for a rough idea, and none of them is right every time.
Because we make to order and hold no stock, every ring is made for one particular hand and there is no room for error: steel can barely be adjusted once it is made. That is why we rely on two methods that actually give us certainty, rather than the usual approximations.
We also make quarter, half and three-quarter sizes, so we can be far more precise than usual. That only helps if the starting measurement is a good one.
Method 1: a photo with a calliper
This is the quickest, and you need two things: a ring that already fits the finger where you will wear the new one, and access to a calliper (a vernier gauge).
- Measure the inner diameter of the ring with the calliper, from inside edge to inside edge.
- Take a photo showing the calliper on the ring and the reading it gives, as in the example.
- Send it to us on WhatsApp. We will convert it into a size.

One detail people often miss: measure the ring from the exact finger where you will wear the new one. The difference between one hand and the other is usually half a size.
Method 2: the physical sizer, after you order
If you have neither a ring to go by nor a calliper, that is fine. Place your order with any size and follow these steps:
- Once the order is confirmed, we send a ring sizer set to your home.
- Try the sizing rings on and keep the one that slides on and off best.
- Send us a video on the chat of you putting it on, along with the number engraved on that ring.
- With that we set the final size and start making your piece.
It sounds slower, but it is the safest method we know: we see how the ring goes onto your finger, not a number someone has told us. And since every piece is made by hand once the design is settled, it does not hold anything up.
Which sizes we make
- Women’s sizes: 8 to 20.
- Men’s sizes: 14 to 30.
- Quarter, half and three-quarter sizes across the whole range.
- Need a size outside those numbers? Write to us and we will look into it: because we make the rings ourselves, it can almost always be done.
Size table (Spanish sizing)
A Spanish ring size is the inner circumference in millimetres minus 40. We make sizes 8 to 30 (other sizes on request), including quarters and halves: if you fall between two, tell us and we will adjust it.
If you know your size in UK letters or US numbers, just tell us and we will convert it for you. Better that than converting it yourself and getting it wrong by half a size.
| Size | Inner circumference | Inner diameter |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 48 mm | 15.3 mm |
| 9 | 49 mm | 15.6 mm |
| 10 | 50 mm | 15.9 mm |
| 11 | 51 mm | 16.2 mm |

| 14 | 54 mm | 17.2 mm |
| 15 | 55 mm | 17.5 mm |
| 16 | 56 mm | 17.8 mm |

| 30 | 70 mm | 22.3 mm |
Five things that change the measurement
- The time of day. Fingers swell: measure late in the afternoon, not first thing or straight out of bed.
- Temperature. Cold shrinks the finger and heat expands it. Avoid measuring with freezing hands or right after exercise.
- The knuckle. The ring has to pass the knuckle. If yours is pronounced, measure there too and go with the larger figure.
- The width of the ring. A wide band feels tighter than a slim one in the same size. From 6 mm upwards it is worth going up a quarter or half a size.
- Which hand. The dominant one tends to be slightly bigger. Always measure the hand that will wear the piece.
If you are torn between two sizes
Write to us before you buy. We would rather spend five minutes confirming it than remake a piece: in 316L stainless steel there is very little room for later adjustment, which is why we insist on this so much.
If you are in Barcelona, we can measure you at the workshop with the ring gauge in a moment. If you are further away, we do it over a video call and guide you while you measure.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find my ring size without a sizer?
If you have a ring that fits that finger, measure its inner diameter with a calliper and send us a photo where the reading is legible: we will convert it into a size. If you have none, order with any size and we will send a ring sizer set to your home so we can settle it before we make anything. A ruler or a strip of paper will give you a rough idea, but neither is precise enough for a steel ring.
What exactly is Spanish sizing?
It is the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres minus 40. A size 16, for example, has an inner circumference of 56 mm and a diameter of about 17.8 mm.
Can a steel ring be resized afterwards?
Very little. 316L stainless steel is far harder than gold or silver and does not allow the usual jeweller’s resizing. That is why we make it to the exact size from the start and help you confirm it beforehand.
Do you make quarter and half sizes?
Yes. We make sizes 8 to 30 (other sizes on request) with quarters and halves, because every piece is made to order and we do not depend on a stock of sizes.
What if I get the measurement wrong?
Write to us as soon as you notice. Each case depends on how far along the making is, but we always look for a solution: what we do not want is for you to end up with a piece you cannot wear.
Does the width of the band affect the size?
Yes. The more surface touching the finger, the tighter it feels. On bands of 6 mm or more we suggest going up a quarter or half a size compared with a slim ring.
Shall we check it together? Send us the measurement you got and we will tell you whether it adds up before we make anything. It takes a minute and saves disappointment.
